District Overview

The 78^th House District includes portions of Barry, Eaton, Ionia, and Kent Counties.

Commentary

This seat has a solid 62.2% Republican base, making that primary race key to who will next represent this district in January. This newly drawn district is wide open, without an incumbent running for the seat. Two of the three candidates have experience running for public office on the local level.

- Ben Geiger – Barry County Commissioner, former legislative staffer, former assistant to Lt. Governor Brian Calley.
