Lt. Governor Holds Workshop

This week, Lt. Governor Brian Calley and Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein held a statewide workshop in Flint. The workshop, which drew more than 275 attendees and 100 businesses, was to help Michigan residents with disabilities have increased opportunities for competitive integrated employment. Additionally, it provided employers the opportunity to learn from businesses already hiring individuals with disabilities, learn about available resources as well as strategies for accommodations and inclusion in the workplace.

At the workshop, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to further increase the number of students and youth with disabilities transitioning from school to employment, as well as post-secondary education intended to lead to employment.
