This week, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced several leadership changes within her administration. Brom Stibitz was appointed to serve as director of the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB). He has served as acting director, and chief information officer, since March. Prior to that, he served as chief deputy director of DTMB since 2015.
Governor Whitmer also announced a series of promotions and new staff hires within the executive office. Three of the governor’s senior aides will serve as deputy chief of staff; Melanie Brown, Jennifer Flood, and Zack Pohl. Additionally, Sarah Gonzales Triplett will serve as public affairs director, George W. Cook III will serve as legislative affairs director, and Poppy Hernandez will serve as equity and inclusion officer.
