Acting Director of LEO Announced

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has named Susan Corbin as acting director of the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) effective immediately. She will replace Jeff Donofrio who is leaving the department but will serve in an advisory capacity for a short period to facilitate a smooth transition. Ms. Corbin had served in state government for the past three administrations, most recently as senior deputy director for LEO since August 2019. Prior to that, she served as a senior advisor to Governor Whitmer and served in senior leadership roles on the Michigan Public Service Commission, the Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth, and the Department of Education. Ms. Corbin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Michigan State University.
