Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointment of Teri Lynn Dennings to the 16th Circuit Court of Macomb County. She currently works as an attorney at an energy company. Prior to that, she worked as a private practice attorney. Ms. Dennings earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and African American Studies from Eastern Michigan University.
The appointment was made to fill a partial term, which expires at noon on January 1, 2023, after Judge Mark S. Switalski stepped down effective January 7, 2022. If Ms. Dennings wishes to se3rve the remainder of Judge Switalski’s term, expiring January 1, 2205, she would be required to run for reelection in November 2022.
