The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) issued the oath of office to newly elected Tribal Council Member Nancy Smit. Ms. Smit graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in American Indian studies from Bemidji State University, a Master of Arts from Briercrest Biblical Seminary, and a master’s degree in social work from Western Michigan University. She has served on a variety of NHBP committees for over 15 years.
The Tribal Council will keep officers’ appointments the same as prior to the 2019 election.
