The 109th House District seat has been without representative in the State House since the passing of former Representative John Kivela. Next week, district residents will head to the polls to vote in the special primary election to move toward electing their representation in Lansing.
The 109th House District is in the Upper Peninsula and includes the counties of Alger, Luce, and Schoolcraft, and a portion of Marquette County. The district has a 56% Democratic base and while the Democratic candidate isn’t assured a win in November, the chances are highly likely.
