Special Primary Elections Held

Last night, special primary elections were held in four House districts that are currently vacant. Two seats were left open when the former representatives were elected to the Michigan Senate, one after the former representative won a local election, and the fourth was left open following the passing of former Representative Andrea Schroeder. Below are the primary winners in each race.

15^th House District, Wayne County
- Democratic candidate –Jeffrey Pepper
- Republican candidate – Ginger Shearer
36^th House District, Macomb County
- Democratic candidate – James Diez
- Republican candidate – Terence Mekoski
43^rd House District, Oakland County
- Democratic candidate – Kent Douglas
- Republican candidate – Mike Harris
74^th House District, Kent County
- Democratic candidate – Carol Glanville
- Republican candidate – Robert Regan

The primary winners will run in a special general election on Tuesday, May 3.
