Schuette Picks Posthumus Lyons as Running Mate

Attorney General Bill Schuette, Michigan’s Republican gubernatorial nominee, selected Lisa Posthumus Lyons as his Lieutenant Governor running mate.

Lyons served three-terms as member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 2011-2016 where she also served as chair of the House Education Committee and as Assistant Majority Floor Leader in the House. In 2016 she was elected as Kent County Clerk / Register of Deeds.

Lisa Posthumus Lyons is married to her husband, Brad, and is the mother of their four children. They reside in Alto on their long-time family farm. Lyons’ father, Dick Posthumus, was Michigan’s Lieutenant Governor from 1999-2003, the Republican nominee for governor in 2002, and currently serves in the administration of Gov. Rick Snyder. Lyons is a graduate of Michigan State University.
