The Senate advanced legislation this week aimed at helping locals address infrastructure needs. The legislation, introduced by Senator Ken Horn (R-Frankenmuth), Senator Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield), and Senator Wayne Schmidt (R-Traverse City), allows municipalities to enter into public-private partnership to improve aging infrastructure, to help with management of local bridges. The four-bill package was reported by the Senate Economic and Small Business Development Committee on Wednesday and advanced to third reading on the Senate floor on Thursday. The bills await further action by the full Senate.
