Primary Election Overview: Senate 2nd District

May 31, 2018

Through the primary election on August 7, on every Tuesday and Thursday on the MLC Blog we will be highlighting races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base.  Candidate’s website and professional information is listed when available.

District Overview

The 2nd Michigan Senate District is in Wane County and includes a portion of the City of Detroit, Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods, Hamtramck, Harper Woods, Highland Park, and the Village of Grosse Pointe Shores. The district has a strong 76% Democratic base, thus the winner of the Democratic primary in August will most likely win the general election in November.
