Through the primary election on August 7, on the MLC Blog we will be highlighting races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base. Candidate’s website and professional information is listed when available.

District Overview

The 88^th House District is located in Ottawa County. It includes Coopersville and the Townships of Allendale, Chester, Georgetown, Polkton, Tallmadge, and Wright.

Commentary

Representative Roger Victory is serving his third and final term in this seat. This district has a strong 77% Republican base; thus, the winner of the Republican primary race is all but assured to win this November.

Michael Bosch – Field supervisor, appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to the Michigan Onion Committee, Georgetown Township Board Trustee
Brent Huddleston
Luke Meerman – Polkton Township Trustee, dairy farmer, small business owner
Jason Minier – Georgetown Township Trustee, vice president at a commercial flooring company, junior high school football coach
