District Overview

The 87^th House District includes portions of Muskegon County in west Michigan.

Commentary

This seat has a 63% Democratic base, making the primary race the one to watch in this district. Four candidates are running in the Dem primary race, including one with experience working for Representative Terry Sabo and another with campaign experience, having been elected to local office.

Democratic Candidates:

- Brennen Gorman – Attorney, adjunct faculty at Muskegon Community College.
- Eddie Jenkins
- Will Snyder – Legislative staffer.
- Debra Warren – Registered dietician, former Muskegon City Commissioner.

Republican Candidate:

- Michael Haueisen – Owner operator truck driver.
