District Overview
The 5th Senate District is located in Southeast Michigan. The district includes Dearborn Heights, Garden City, Inkster, Redford Township, and a portion of the City of Detroit. The district boasts an 80% Democratic base; thus, the winner of the Democratic primary should have an easy win in the general election.
Commentary
State Senator David Knezek is running for his second term in the Senate. During his term in office, he’s served on the leadership team as the Democratic Caucus Chair. All signs point to Senator Knezek winning both the primary and general elections and returning for his second term in January.
