Primary Election Overview: 44th House District

Through the primary election on August 7, on the MLC Blog we will be highlighting races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base. Candidate’s website and professional information is listed when available.

District Overview

The 44th House District is located in Oakland County. The district includes the townships of Highland, Milford, Springfield, and White Lake, and a portion of Waterford Township.

Commentary

Representative Jim Runestad is foregoing running for a third term to run for an open State Senate seat. The district has a 65% Republican base, meaning the winner of the Republican primary race should most likely win this November.
