Presidential Primary Debates to be Held in Michigan

It was announced this week that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have agreed to hold a presidential primary in Flint on March 6, two days prior to Michigan’s primary election. Further details on time and venue are yet to be announced. Additionally, a debate for Republican Presidential primary candidates will be held on Detroit on March 3. The two-hour live debate will be televised on Fox News. Further details on this debate are forthcoming, including the requirements for candidates to participate. “By both parties holding debates on the national stage in Michigan, it shows the importance that not only Michigan, but two of our major cities will play in the national conversation in the coming year. Presidential candidates from both parties have brought into the discussion the City of Flint’s water crisis and the Detroit Public School systems financial situation. As a result, the problems faced in both cities have become part of the national talking points for the Presidential candidates during primary debates and discussions,” stated Brendan Ringlever of MLC.
