Given the abundance of natural resources and outdoor recreation in Michigan, the state is taking a step to further promote outdoor recreation activities throughout Michigan. To accomplish that, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the creation of the Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry. The new office will be a partnership between the Department of Natural Resources and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, on behalf of the Michigan Strategic Fund. The office will support new possibilities for recreation business and talents, while remaining rooted in conservation efforts. A key component of the efforts will be the promotion of Michigan’s outdoor lifestyle and industry through the Pure Michigan campaign.
