Steve Sliver, executive director of the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) testified before congress, calling for additional resources to combat PFAS contamination. During his testimony to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Environment, he outlined the $50 million effort Michigan has been undertaking to investigate and cleanup PFAS contamination and protect the public from contaminants in drinking water.
In February, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order reestablishing MPART and making it a permanent body within the Department of Environmental, Great Lakes, and Energy.
