Legislature to Kick Off the New Year on January 9

Dec 21, 2018

On January 9th at noon, the Michigan House of Representatives will hold their first session day for the 2019-2020 legislative term. Recently, Majority Floor Leader-elect Triston Cole (R-Mancelona) released the session schedule for the full upcoming year. The House is scheduled to hold their typical Tuesday – Thursday session schedule except for the month of July and August, where they will hold one day each month. Additionally, there will be the typical two-week spring break during the last week of March and the first week of April. Next year, the chamber will expand their typical two-week hunting break in November, to a three-week break that month. The last scheduled session days are December 17 – 19, however, those days are tentative. You can view the full monthly calendar by clicking here

The Senate released their session schedule for the first six months. They will also hold their first session day on January 9th. Similar to the House calendar, they will meet Tuesday – Thursday through June, with the exception of the two-week spring break at the end of March and beginning of April. Their calendar is not yet posted online, but when it is made available you will find it by clicking here.
