The House and Senate voted this week to restore some of the programs vetoed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer from the 2019-2020 Fiscal year budget. Additionally, the bills address some of the governor’s transfers made through the State Administrative Board actions. The votes came after weeks of negotiating between the House, Senate, and administration. Both the House and Senate voted on Wednesday to pass the supplemental appropriations.

The Senate package also includes a measure that would limit State Administrative Board transfers and set in statute a target deadline of July 1 for the Legislature to present a budget to the governor. The bills will be sent to the other chamber for consideration.
