This week it was announced that Steve Arwood, CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corp (MEDC), would be stepping down on June 30. Mr. Arwood has served in his current role, as well as president and chairman of the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF), since January 2015. Prior to that, he also served as director of the Talent and Economic Development and director of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
Governor Rick Snyder is recommending that the MEDC Executive Committee appoint Jennifer Nelson as the interim director. Ms. Nelson has been with the MEDC for eleven-years and currently serves as executive vice president of business development. The governor will appoint a new president and chairman of the MSF.
