Last Week on the MLC Blog

Aug 10, 2020

In his latest blog post, MLC lobbyist Matt Sowash explored the impact the pandemic is having on voter participation.

Last Tuesday’s primary election in Michigan set a new record for the number of ballots cast.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer created a new council that will act in an advisory capacity to the governor and develop, review, and recommend policies and actions designed to eradicate and prevent discrimination and racial inequality.

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy announced $1.7 million in grants have been awarded to partially fund 36 EV charger stations throughout the state.

It was announced that Governor Gretchen Whitmer will serve a second term on the National Governors Association’s Executive Committee, a role she has been in since last year.

A look at events during the week of August 8 – 14, 2020.
