Michigan’s Invasive Species Program this week announced the launch of its new website, which will provide information about existing and potential species threatening the state’s natural resources. It includes a catalog containing identifying photos and reporting information. The website is a collaborative effort between the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Environmental Quality, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The state defines an invasive species as one that is not native and can cause harm or is likely to cause harm to the state’s economy, environment, or human health.
The website can be found at www.michigan.gov/invasives.
