This week, the Governor’s 21st Century Infrastructure Commission announced the northern Michigan stop on their listening tour. The stop will be held at Northern Michigan University (an MLC client) on Friday, August 19, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. The purpose of the stop is for residents to provide input on improving the state’s infrastructure. This is one of three statewide stops the commission is holding in order to hear from concerned citizens.
The commission was created by Governor Rick Snyder through Executive Order and was charged with identifying best practices to modernize the state’s infrastructure over the next thirty to fifty years. The commission has to provide their final recommendations to the Governor and legislature by November 20, 2016.
