House Speaker Announces New Committee and Chairman

Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield (R-Levering) has announced the creation of the House Ways and Means Committee. The committee will review legislation after it has been approved by its original committee before sending it to the House floor. It will serve as one of four committees that will advance bills to the House floor. Topics could include tax policy, regulatory reform, and commerce, among others. Serving as chairman of the new committee will be Representative Brandt Iden (R-Oshtemo Twp.).
