House Passes State Fee Waiver

This week, the House passed legislation that would waive or prorate certain state fees for businesses. The plan would waive 2022 annual renewal fees for various business liquor licenses and prorate or offer a credit for individual fees for the time that a professional license or registration couldn’t be used due to the state of emergency or an emergency epidemic order. Additionally, if a food establishment lost at least 25% of quarterly revenue due to an epidemic order or a state of emergency, the state would refund the business for various state fees collected during the year for which a license is valid. The bill package has been referred to the Senate Regulatory Reform Committee for consideration.
