House Democratic Leadership Team Announced

Speaker-elect Joe Tate (D-Detroit) announced the members who will serve on his leadership team for the upcoming term beginning in January. Last week, the Caucus elected both the Speaker-elect and Representative Abraham Aiyash (D-Hamtramck) as the Majority Floor Leader.

The additional members of the team will be:

- Speaker Pro Tempore: Representative Laurie Pohutsky (D-Livonia)
- Associate Speaker Pro Tem.: Representative Carol Glanville (D-Walker)
- Associate Speaker Pro Tem.: Representative-elect Kristian Grant (D-Grand Rapids)
- Assistant Majority Floor Leader: Representative Kara Hope (D-Holt)
- Assistant Majority Floor Leader: Representative-elect Jimmie Wilson Jr. (D-Ypsilanti)
- Assistant Majority Floor Leader: Representative-elect Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City)
- Majority Whip: Representative Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton)
- Deputy Whip: Representative-elect Carrie Rheingans (D-Ann Arbor)
- Deputy Whip: Representative-elect Alabas Farhat (D-Dearborn)
- Caucus Chair: Representative Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw)
- Caucus Vice Chair: Representative Helena Scott (D-Detroit)
- Caucus Vice Chair: Representative Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac)
- Caucus Vice Chair: Representative-elect Jasper Martus (D-Flushing)

Additionally, Senate Majority Leader-elect Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) announced Kathleen O’Reilly Farhat will serve as her chief of staff. In the role she will manage caucus operations and employees and direct the implementation of the caucus’ agenda.
