House and Senate Release Session Schedules

This week, House Majority Floor Leader-elect, Dan Lauwers (R-Brockway), released the session schedule for 2017. The first session day of the new term will be held on Wednesday, January 11. Beginning January 17 through June 22, the House will hold session Tuesday – Thursday, with the exception of their two-week spring break in the beginning of April. They will hold session one day in each July and August, and return to their Tuesday – Thursday session schedule in September, with their last schedule day on December 14. They will not hold session on Thursday, September 21 in observance of Rosh Hashanah and will take their annual two-week hunting break mid-November.

Senate Majority Floor Leader Mike Kowall (R-White Lake) released the Senate session schedule for the first six months of 2017. The Senate will hold their first session day on Wednesday, January 11. The following week they will begin their Tuesday-Thursday session schedule, with a break the first two week of April. The last scheduled session day for the first half of 2017, is June 15.
