Healthcare Task Force Holds Meeting

Sep 01, 2017

On Tuesday, the House C.A.R.E.S. Task Force held a meeting in Auburn Hills on how to better help residents living with mental health issues.  The members heard from fourteen different organizations and advocates on ideas to reform the current system.  This meeting was one of several statewide meetings being held on the issue by the task force.  Information gathered will be used to help develop legislative reforms to improve consistency, provide better support for veterans, increase attention on substance abuse treatment, allow for enhanced law enforcement training, and make improvements to mental health courts.

The House C.A.R.E.S. Task Force, named for the Community, Access, Resources, Education, and Safety elements, seeks to help support citizens to live happier and more independent lives.

The task force has welcomed the public to submit suggestions on state mental health services at www.house.mi.gov/CARES.
