It was announced this week that Nancy Vreibel will has been tapped to serve as the Department of Health and Human Services new chief deputy director. She’s replacing Tim Becker, who left the role on July 8 for the private sector. “Nancy has a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience. She’s been a huge asset to the legislature in her most recent role as budget director, a real pleasure to work with, and will be an excellent addition to the Department of Health and Human Services,” stated Sean Mann of MLC. Ms. Vreibel will begin her new role on July 18
Ms. Vreibel has forty years of experience in state government. She is a former budget director for the Department of Community Health and has been the director of appropriations for the chairpersons of the Senate Appropriation Committee since 2007. Additionally, she’s worked as the chief budget analyst and House Republican Majority policy director. Ms. Vreibel holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University ‘s School of Social Science, with majors in political science, social science, and economics.
