Governor Signs COVID-19 Legislation

This week, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed several pieces of legislation related to the state’s response to the ongoing pandemic.

- HB 6137 – Requires the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to publicly publish certain data regarding COVID-19 and nursing homes.
- HB 6293 – Codifies in law certain expanded COVID-19 testing services that Governor Whitmer provided for through executive orders. It allows certain volunteers and workers to help with the testing process under the proper supervision of qualified licensees or local health departments until Jun 30, 2021.
- HBs 6294 – 9297 – Allow certain documents to be signed, witnessed, and notarized electronically until December 31, 2020.
