Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed three bills into law this week which help responsibly promote MI Festivals, Events & Spirits. The changes to the MI Liquor Control Code allow for a special licenses for certain qualified organizations to host spirit sampling events up to six times per year, allows a spirit vendor to provide a festival and events organizers with certain brand logoed material and equipment and allows festival and event’s organizers to return unopened and resaleable distilled spirits to retailers if they over purchase for their event. The bills were sponsored by Representatives Brandt Iden (R-Oshtemo Twp), Jack O’Malley (R-Lake Ann) and Senator Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield).
