Governor Makes Appointments to State Officers Compensation Commission

This week, Governor Rick Snyder announced three appointments to the State Officers Compensation Commission. The commission is a seven-member board responsible for determining the salaries and expense allowances of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, members of the state Legislature, and Justices of the Michigan Supreme Court. The newly appointed members are:

James Hallan of East Lansing – President and CEO of the Michigan Retailers Association and the Retailers Insurance Company.
Nancy Jenkins of Manitou Beach – Former State Representative and current president of Michigan Strategies.
Joseph Smalley of East Lansing – President and founder of Smalley Investments.
