Apr 15, 2022

Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed Kristin M. Beltzer as an Independent on the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. Her term began on April 11 and expires on June 12, 2023, succeeding Geralyn Lasher who resigned. Ms. Beltzer is currently the CEO and founder of a business and executive management consulting business. Prior to her current role, she served as director of appointments for Governor Rick Snyder and executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Liquor Control Commission is the sole wholesaler for all spirits products in the state and is responsible for the licensing of the manufacture and sale of all beer, wine, distilled spirits, and mixed spirits in the state. Additionally, the commission is responsible for the enforcement of Michigan’s liquor laws and the collection of excise and specific taxes on beer, wine, distilled spirits, and mixed spirit drinks.
