In a press conference this afternoon, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced changes to restrictions that were put in place due to a spike in COVID-19 cases last month. According to the governor, the restrictions that have been in place over the last several weeks helped the state lower three key metrics, which has allowed for the loosening of some restrictions. To reflect the changes, the Department of Health and Human Services updated its epidemic order, which begins On December 21 and lasts until January 15, 2021. The changes include:

Limits on residential gatherings remain and can include up to 10 persons from 2 households for indoor gatherings or up to 25 persons from up to 3 households for outdoor gatherings.
