This week, Governor-elect Gretchen Whitmer announced key members of her transition team. Mark Bernstein will serve as Director of her Transition Office, leading the day-to-day operations. Also serving on the team are Awenate Cobbina as deputy director, JoAnne Huls as COO, Mark Burton as chief strategist, and Steve Liedel as general counsel. Also announced was the new website for the transition, including news, inaugural engagement opportunities, and applications for positions within the administration. The Honorary Transition Committee members were also announced:

• Mona Hanna-Attisha – Associate professor of pediatrics and human development at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine
• Barbara McQuade – professor at University of Michigan School of Law
• Dennis Archer – Detroit Mayor from 1994-2001
• Kate Pew Wolters – Chair of the Steelcase Foundation and a Grand Valley State University Trustee and president of the Kate and Richard Wolters Foundation
• Mike Prusi – Former Michigan Senate Minority Leader
• Joe Schwarz – Former U.S. Congressman for Michigan’s 7th District and a practicing physician, Dr. Schwarz is a lecturer at University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and serves on the board of directors of “Voters Not Politicians.”
• Allan Gilmour – president of The Gilmour-Jirgens Fund and co-chair of the HOPE Fund Committee
• Dug Song – Co-Founder of Ann Arbor-based internet security provider Duo Security
• Gary Torgow – Chairman of Chemical Financial Corporation
• Portia Roberson – CEO of Focus: HOPE
• Danial J. Loepp – President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
