To manage the influx of Federal resources effectively and efficiently, Governor Gretchen Whitmer created the Michigan Infrastructure Office. The office is tasked with overseeing Federal funds distributed under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This includes repairs to roads and bridges, replacing lead pipes, expanding high-speed internet, and building electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The office will be responsible for organizing and executing the governor’s vision for infrastructure, coordinating across state government, marshalling resources, and partnering with local officials, federal partners, and outside stakeholders.
