Governor Gretchen Whitmer called for a special election to fill the vacant 15th House District seat. The seat was left open following the resignation of former Representative Abdullah Hammoud (D-Hamtramck) after he was elected Dearborn Mayor. A special primary election will be held on March 1 and the special general election will be held on May 3. These dates coincide with previously announced special elections to fill three additional open House seats.
