Governor Announces New Budget Director

This week, Governor Rick Snyder announced the appointment of former Representative and House Appropriations Chairman Al Pscholka as the state’s Budget Director. He will take over the position when John Roberts leaves in mid-February for a private-sector position. Until then, Mr. Pscholka will work with Mr. Roberts as the Budget Office prepares to present the Fiscal Year 2017-18 executive budget recommendations on Wednesday, February 8. “Al will be a great asset to the Governor’s budget team. While serving as chairman of the Appropriations Committee he provided excellent leadership and worked diligently to complete the budget ahead of schedule,” said Sean Mann of MLC.

Mr. Pscholka served on the House Appropriations Committee for all six years as a state representative and served as chair of the committee for the past two years. Before being elected to the state House, he served as a Lincoln Township Trustee for eight years. Mr. Pscholka was the district director for Congressman Fred Upton from 2003 to 2010. Prior to that position, he was in charge of marketing and communications for Cornerstone Alliance.
