General Election Overview: 84th House District

District Overview

The 84^th House District is located in Huron and Tuscola Counties.

Commentary

Representative Edward Canfield (R) opted to retire instead of running for a third term in this seat. This seat has a strong 67% Republican base and overwhelming voted for Trump in the last presidential election. Republican Phil Green is the son of current Senator Mike Green, so the name is well-known in this area. While it may be a blue-wave year, this seat looks likely to stay in GOP hands.

Republican Candidate:

Phil Green – Chaplain at the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, assistant pastor at Juniata Baptist Church, former youth pastor, former school administrator of Juniata Christian School
