District Overview

The 57^th House District includes a portion of Lenawee County.

Commentary

Representative Bronna Kahle (R) is running for her second term in the State House. This Lenawee County district has a 60% Republican base and has been trending Republican in recent years. Donald Trump won this district comfortably in 2016 and Rep. Kahle has done all the right things since winning in 2016. This is a district that Democrats haven’t been able to win since 2008 and it will be a difficult seat to pick up in 2018. Democrats do not anticipate an anti-Trump tail wind in this district that is prevalent in other parts of Michigan. Pedersen will need a massive ground campaign to pull off an upset in November.
