General Election Overview: 56th House District

District Overview

The 56^th House district is located in portions of Oakland County and includes Clawson, and portions of Royal Oak, Troy, and Bloomfield Township.

Commentary

With a 52% base, this newly drawn district leans Democratic. The two candidates are political newcomers, as neither have experience being elected to office. This is one of the many seats that both parties are working to win in the race for majority of the House.

Democratic Candidate:

- Sharon MacDonnell – Journalist, works in marketing and video production.

Republican Candidate:

- Mark Gunn – Small business owner, real estate broker.
