General Election Overview: 39th House District

District Overview

The 39^th House District is located in Oakland County and includes Wixom, Commerce Township, and a portion of West Bloomfield Township.

Commentary

Republican Representative Ryan Berman is running for his second term in office. The district has a 54% Republican base. In 2016 President Trump received 51.93% of the vote, while in 2018 Governor Whitmer received 53.17% of the vote. Democrats believe that their candidate has the power to knock off an incumbent in the ever-changing politically Oakland County. Republicans believe that Rep. Berman has the benefits of incumbency and has worked the district well in his first term.
