General Election Overview: 38th House District

District Overview

The 38^th House District is located in Oakland County. It includes Lyon Township, Novi, Novi Township, South Lyon, Walled Lake, and a portion of Northville.

Commentary

Republican Representative Kathy Crawford is running for her third and final term in office. While she has long served the community in elected roles, as has her husband, former Rep. Huge Crawford, her opponent also has campaign experience, having been elected to serve on the Novi City Council. While the district has a 56% Republican base, experts are giving the Democratic candidate a chance to flip this seat, especially with all eyes on Trump’s low approval numbers in Oakland County.

Republican Candidate:

Kathy Crawford – State Representative, former Novi City Councilwoman, former Oakland County Commissioner, worked in the field of aging
