General Election Overview: 20th House District

District Overview

The 20^th House District is located in Southeast Michigan and includes a portion of Wayne County.

Commentary

Democratic Representative Matt Koleszar is running for her second term in office. During his first term in office he has served as Minority Assistant Leader and serves on the following committees:

- Education Committee
- Health Policy Committee

The district has a 53% Republican base. Despite its Republican-leaning base, in 2016 President Trump only received 48.12% of the vote, while in 2018 Governor Whitmer received 55.24% of the vote.

Democratic Candidate:

Republican Candidate:

- John Lacny – Marine, small business owner
