An attempt from the House Republican candidate in the 30th district to remove her Democratic candidate from the ballot this November was ended this week. A Macomb County Judge did not agree with Diana Farrington that Michael Notte, the Democratic candidate, is ineligible to run for the office because he didn’t meet the residency requirements.
In the 46th House District, a recount of the primary results has shown that while the margin narrowed, the candidate declared the winner is indeed the winning candidate. Joe Kent requested a recount of the Republican primary after losing by twenty-nine votes. The recount found an additional twenty-eight votes for Mr. Kent and fourteen for his opponent John Reilly, not enough to change the ultimate results of the primary race. John Reilly will face the Democratic candidate, Davis Lillis, this November.
