The Department of Health and Human Services launched a statewide campaign urging residents to get their flu vaccine this fall. They are stressing the greater need this year in order for the state to prevent an outbreak of a second communicable disease, in addition to COVID-19, which could put the state’s economy and health care system at greater risk. The campaign, Facing the Flu Together, will include TV, social and digital media, podcasts, print and radio advertising.
Last year an estimated 3.2 million people in Michigan received the flu vaccine. The state has set a goal of achieving a 33% increase in flu vaccination this season.
