The Joint Select Committee on the Covid-19 Pandemic held their first hearing this week. The joint bipartisan committee is tasked with reviewing decision-making and preparedness from the governor and state departments. Through their work, they will seek legislative recommendations to help protect residents. “Legislative oversight has a crucial role within state government,” said Representative Matt Hall (R-Emmett Twp.), who chairs the committee. “It’s imperative to ensure the administration and particular departments are working as effectively and efficiently as possible for the people they represent.
