Board Certifies Primary Results

Aug 26, 2022

Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers unanimously voted to certify the August primary elections. Prior to the vote, boards of county canvassers in the state’s 83 counties also certified the primary elections that took place within their jurisdictions. The candidates certified by the Board are now included on the state’s candidate listing, which you can click here to view.

Following the certification, on August 25 clerks began processing absentee ballot request forms from registered voters. Absentee ballots will become available at clerk offices 35 days later, on September 29. For your personal voter information, please visit Michigan.gov/vote.

The Board of State Canvassers was created by the State Constitution of 1850. The four-member board is tasked with canvassing and certifying statewide elections, conducting recounts for state-level offices, canvassing state-level ballot proposal petitions, amongst other duties.
