Governor Proposes Tax Rebate for Working Families

Families in Michigan would receive a $500 tax rebate under a proposal made by Governor Gretchen Whitmer this week. Named the MI Tax Rebate Right Now plan, the proposal relies on the state’s budget surplus to provide needed relief to Michigan residents. In a letter to the four legislative leaders, the governor urges the rebate as part of the overall budget negotiations, which are currently ongoing. To read the full letter, please click here.
